In my second year I took a Physical Education course (Ice Skating) that was taught by Ron Mason (coach of the college's hockey team at the time).
A friend of mine and I had skated most of our lives and figured (no pun intended) this would be a relaxing and easy A.
To start things off, Mason asked us all to skate from one end of the rink to the other. He said he wanted to properly assign us to groups that would allow us to "get the most out of the class".
Well, I don't have to say much more than that Phil (my friend) and I skated very quickly (end to end) and found out (once the class began) why Ron Mason was one of the most successful coaches in NCAA ice hockey history.
Never worked so hard, and learned so much, in my life.
