Thank you for your comments. I took the current position I am in secondary to it being a corporation and in the hope for career advancement opportunities. I have absolutely voiced my intentions and that has been from day "0". I just recently became a mentor for new hires. I also asked to be apart of a compliance committee. And as of late I am joining a leadership pod within our company in hopes that I may be connected with management more and climb.
All of the aforementioned are ways I am trying to make my goals happen.
Yet as you stated, if it isn't happening I will move on.

Hi Laurel,
Most of the risk, quality and claims professionals I work with have clinical backgrounds. This applies both to providers that made the leap to administration as well as those who transitioned to companies like mine that don't provide patient care but support the industry. Are you looking to stay with your current organization or making a move? If the former I'd suggest talking to leadership about your interest in taking on more responsibility and asking about new management positions opening up. Getting your MBA clearly demonstrates business acumen and an interest in moving up the ladder.
Best of luck!
Drew
