Hello everyone! I joined BGS in the last semester of my undergrad. I took my last final Wednesday, so finally have the mental capacity to network and interact as much as desired. I graduate this month from UW-Milwaukee's Lubar School of Business (high honors) in Information Technology Management with a minor in International Business. As of March, I accepted an offer with Cisco as an Accociate Systems Engineer and will be moving to Raleigh, NC towards the end of the summer. I will most likely change chapters so that I can connect with east coast BGS members. I plan to effectively utilize BGS in my career going forward. I have found it challenging to celebrate publicly my accomplishments when it comes to post-graduation with the job market in its current status. Most of my friends will not be working their first year after university. This is the first place I have publicly announced where I will be working after graduation, but I believe this is important in order to give back to BGS and so I can find other members within my field. In the interim timeframe before my job starts, I have transitioned back to the Madison, WI area to stay with my family. While 'safer at home' is still in effect in Wisconsin I have been reading the books I simply did not have time for during my studies. Last month I finished David Allen's book on
Stress Free Productivity, I highly recommend it to any professional. I also am taking full advantage of the Wisconsin springtime and riding my motorcycle as much as possible. If anyone recommends particular communities I should join from ConnectBGS due to my location do not hesitate to reach out! Stay safe everyone.
