Everyone here is a lifelong learner and it only seems appropriate that we talk about what we can do to better ourselves and our careers. With that said:

What are the top 5 skills you want to build for yourself/your career?

Comment and let everyone know what skills you plan to cultivate!

I really want to become fluent in another language! I know some Spanish, but not as much as I'd like.

Besides that, I want to learn more about web analytics and graphic design.

Outside of my career, I really want to learn how to paint--I've done painting classes, and I really enjoy it! I also want to learn how to refurbish old furniture.

    What about you, Matt?

I'm sure I could think of 5 skills I want to build, but for the most part I want to continue to remain curious.

Curiosity drives me to learn new things and connect with new people to expand horizons/knowledge. I've had a fairly broad past experience and as a result I don't want to specialize in something - I would rather learn a little bit about a lot of things than just a deep dive into one thing. I feel that curiosity helps me to connect the dots better when trying to solve complex problems, something I enjoy in both my professional and personal life.

I would love to build the skill of Stress Management!  I realize that the addition of responsibilities is a complement as it shows my employer sees me as dependable and reliant; however, wearing many hats can feel more like a burden than a reward.

I would love to be fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.  I believe in sharing knowledge, and the more languages you know, the more people you can reach!

I would also like to increase communication skills, specifically that of persuasion.  Sales is a big weakness for me, but is needed in every business.
