  • 1.  Student members: are you studying in person or virtually?

    Hello students!

This is obviously a unique year for everyone, but I'm curious to know: who's attending classes in person this year, and who's been moved to virtual instruction? Or is your school doing a hybrid program?

Please reply and share your experiences. :)

University of Dallas is in person! We all have to wear masks inside and there aren't as many events going on, but it's amazing to be able to go to class and interact with professors and classmates in person again after so many months of everything being virtual!

    Hi Tiffany,
Thank you for your interest! At Hong Kong Baptist University, our classes are currently conducted virtually. But we have been informed that we will soon be adopting a hybrid program. Students in Hong Kong can then attend face-to-face classes by following strict safety measures and international students like me, who are still back in our home countries due to the travel restrictions, can still leverage the flexibility of online learning in addition to the stability of in-class instructions.

    Hi Tiffany,

I made the decision to take classes online from home this semester because all of my classes are either asynchronous (entirely online) or synchronous (live online lectures during a set time). The University of Connecticut is still having some in-person classes, but most students I have talked to are almost completely online as well. I have found that online classes require much more dedication, especially if they are asynchronous and we do not have class meetings. That being said, I enjoy my live lectures. It is great to be able to see and talk to my classmates.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Kathleen Kelly

    Hello Tiffany,

Boise State University has in-person, hybrid, remote, and online classes this semester. Apart from one in-person class, my other classes are online/remote. For the in-person class, we have to wear masks and practice physical distancing. Classes are hosted in big venues. It is a little unfortunate that we cannot maintain the level of interactions as usual. It has been a valuable experience taking a lot of online classes as I have developed better organizational and time management skills.

Thank you for your interest in how we (students) are doing!
