Hi Kathleen, thanks for sharing your story!
Caregiving is already stressful--adding a pandemic and a new job is no joke! You're a rock star. One day, you'll realize how much stronger you are as a person because of this experience. :)
Also, being able to teach yourself how to do a new job is an incredibly valuable skill--one that many people could not handle. Make sure you include it where you can on your resume/cover letters.
And I agree: ConnectBGS is a positive space to talk to others about your career struggles, share your successes, and learn from each other! And the more members who participate, the more valuable the community will be for everyone.
Hope you're having a great Monday!

Hi, Tiffany!
Thank you for checking in with all of us.
I have been struggling to balance working from home and taking care of a sick family member. While I am thankful I am able to work virtually so I can be here, it has been difficult. I have found myself overwhelmed a numerous amount of times. This is my first marketing internship and since everything is online, I am forced to teach myself. BGS has already helped me tremendously through this. I started connecting with many members on LinkedIn and have had a few great conversations. Everyone offers wonderful advice and is incredibly supportive. I encourage those who have not started engaging with ConnectBGS to start now. It is never too late. Everyone is truly friendly.
I also recommend getting some fresh air every day in whatever way you can. Even going for a drive with your windows down could help relieve stress.
If anyone needs someone to talk to, please feel free to reach out to me.
Best,
Kathleen Kelly
