Welcome & Introductions

Hi all! It's been wonderful to see so many new faces on ConnectBGS. Firstly, I want to welcome everyone who has joined the organization recently. The BGS staff is absolutely thrilled to serve the best in business and cannot wait to see what amazing things you do next!

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma lasts a lifetime and we want to offer our members value that supports our members throughout their careers. I know that I specifically mentioned all our new members on CBGS, however, I would love to hear from any of our members from new to alumni. What was the deciding factor when accepting BGS membership? Additionally, what do you hope to get out of your membership?

It would be great to hear your feedback!

Matt,

I joined for several reasons, but one of the most significant is to get help or provide help in getting a job.  I hope to find individuals who can make recommendations on people, schools/businesses, and institutions who may be able to review resumes/CVs, provide connections to individuals who may be a good resource (such as practice interviews or job boards), and pass job ideas. In general, I hope we can find referrals and provide support to each other.  In particular, those interested in the academic community will find it much different than the world of practice, and navigating it requires a unique approach.  I believe this venue provides that opportunity given that we are all accomplished scholars.

Likewise, I hope to return the favor and pay it forward to those who I can help.
