Hello!
My name is Joy Moriarty and I am currently a Senior at Marist College. This semester I am working on my Honors Thesis Project and I am hoping a Beta Gamma Sigma Member may be able to give me some guidance and knowledge.
For my Honors Thesis Project, I will be exploring the topic of Cooperatives. While I was abroad, I had the opportunity to go to a women's cooperative in Morocco and it inspired me to learn more about them. The purpose of this project is to more firmly understand the impact of retail cooperatives on an international level to see if they would be beneficial to us on a national level. Some things that I may explore are their general structure, effect on the economy and community, impact on an international level, and what they can do for underdeveloped countries. To add contrast, I will be discussing the struggle to integrating and starting cooperatives. These are just starting points and there will definitely be some points added and some points removed.
It is my hope that a member of this amazing business society will be someone who has had experience with/ or has knowledge of retail cooperatives or will be able to put me in contact with someone who does.
