    Hello!

    Almost everyone around the world has a smartphone whether it's an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy. It led me to wonder if people are using selfies or hiring a photographer to snap a professional portrait for their resumes and LinkedIn profiles?

    Which method do you prefer? Is it ideal for a person to take selfies for use on their professional profiles?

    Great question! With the quality of smartphone cameras today, I don't think there is anything wrong with taking your own profile picture as opposed to hiring a professional.  I would, of course, suggest that you stay away from "silly" selfies and keep in mind how you would like to present yourself in your profile picture.  Pay attention to details such as your clothing and what is in the background.
