Thank you for making that point, Ben. Like Tiffany, I have a hard time waking up any earlier than necessary. But rather than having a morning routine like those mentioned above, I have an evening routine that keeps me centered.
After work, I like to work out to help combat the 8+ hours of sitting that day. Every work out I finish with a solid 30 minutes of stretching to help bring my heart rate back to resting a begin winding down for the day. In addition, every evening before bed I take some time to read. Whether it's one page or one chapter, I always make sure to squeeze this in. Reading helps clear my mind of the day's stresses that would otherwise prevent a peaceful night of sleep.
Whether your routine is in the morning or in the evening, it's important to create healthy habits that promote a balanced lifestyle.

Subject: What can you do to start off your day/week?
The time we get up does not make someone successful. Advising anybody that all successful people wake up early (like before 6:30) is horrible advice! Nobody on this board is doing that, but I hear it often in my discussions and mentor groups.
What's the difference between waking up earlier or going to bed earlier? It's more about length of sleep than it is about timing of waking. You need to be aware of your own body/mind situation, your own circadian rhythm.
How much sleep do you need? Some people need 5 hours, other people need 8. It usually falls between those ranges.
Take some time to really think about, or even write down, what times your energy is highest and when does it peak and slowly cascade. Think of as it as an own personal experiment. Work your day around your natural body, don't force your body to do things that are not natural to it. Every (body) is different. In fact, there are now sleep profiles called sleep animals.. (remember night owl, early bird).. well it was found that's just not enough. Sleep Animal Profiles include Lion, Bear, Wolf, Dolphin.. there are many articles about this and I recommended checking those out.
I will say that an easy thing to do is just simply just to get an extra 30 minutes of sleep, tonight. Just try that and see how it feels. Unfortunately, most of us are overworked and under-slept. I love John's aspects to his morning routine. Mediation, Exercise, Reading... These are definitely key to a successful day, just don't get hung up on the timing of when you do these things. Experiment around and find what's best for you. Cheers!
