As of lately, I am a terrible reader. I try to read at least 5-10 books a year. Since I am a fan of Erik Larson's work, a new book came out,"The Splendid and The Vile." I will definitely dive into it this week and catch up more books during this tying time.

Are there anything you wish to improve or catch up?

    Chris,

Great thread! I always wanted to learn how to play the piano, so for the last 3 weeks I've been trying to get a half hour a day in piano lessons. Hopefully once this is all over, I can continue with the habit.

    Hello Mahati,
Great for you BGS brother. That is an excellent thing that you are doing, in learning to play the piano. I commend and encourage you to continue practicing each day as you have mentioned in your post. Mahati, I sent you a LinkedIn invitation to connect...OK. Take care and stay safe and healthy.
    Respectfully,
    Jose

Good Tuesday (May 5, 2020) morning BGS community. My response to, "naming a habit that I've been struggling to implement" is to limit my intake of news at all levels (local, state and federal) to only a 30-minute session in the AM and again a 30-minute session in the PM. There are so many other constructive, positive and value-driven things that I do each day, which is much healthier and rewarding for me on a personal basis, instead of reading/listening to the mundane rhetoric that DT is not happy with someone, something or some nation. For me, I prefer reading/studying superlative and truthful article like the HBR article attached below. Personally, I concur and strongly agree with what is underscored with the contents of the HBR article. Finally, happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone!!!

    Hey Jose,

Great article, thanks for sharing! It was very informative and I appreciate that the article analyzes the situations women leaders are in and gives credit to these leaders' ability to expertly strategize, while also acknowledging first and foremost we have to work toward changing societal expectations. I've saved it to reference later.

Also, where do you go for your news when you do check it? I mainly go to NPR and BBC for neutral news. Any other suggestions?

    Chris,

Recently, I've been trying to make my bed every morning and spend at least 15 minutes tidying up every day before bed. I know they're small tasks and I've always considered myself tidy, but since my at-home workspace is in my bedroom it's become even more important to me to keep the area around me extra clean. I just can't seem to focus if my surroundings aren't spotless and even though it's a short amount of time, the 15 minutes of cleaning really helps.

This is a great prompt and I hope that others find it and respond!

    Hi Chris,

In my retirement years, I find myself looking back ... having studied, learned and implemented ... from people / subjects ... that have had an influence (I think?) on the habits of many of us ... hope this is useful/helpful ....

Let me add something else that I've "been struggling to implement" ... a more "prayerful" life ... with "technology" helping to deliver some of the "richness" ...
