Welcome & Introductions

    Hello everyone,
My name is Jose Rodriguez and I wanted to briefly introduce myself. Currently I am a West Texas A&M University, College of Business, MBA graduate-level student. Within the next couple of days, I will complete my WT Spring 2020 CIDM class and have a few weeks to relax and catch up on some other personal issues, like reconnecting with everyone at BGS. I begin my next class (Finance) in June 2020.

I am confronted like everyone else, with the challenges, adjustments and shifts necessary, to focus and move forward positively and productively in our new challenging environment, which my former employer (US Air Force) refers to as, "The New Normal."
Anyhow, I want to encourage everyone in BGS to remain focused, positive, while centered on a balanced, safe and healthy life. I will share a bit of my military background, hoping to encourage anyone who reads my post.

During my active duty USAF days, to include being deployed to the middle east during the Gulf War, there were many, many days where I had my doubts. The thing that got me and many of my military unit co-workers through those difficult days, was being focused on our military mission, being united in holistic terms, while practicing acceptance, understanding and empathy with each other. By practicing these and other important principles, I am here today (April 22, 2020), writing this short introductory post. Why deployed "down range", one of my unit commanders asked me one day, Sgt Rodriguez, what is the difference between school and life??? I replied, Sir I don't know. He explained it to me with this statement. He stated, "Jose, the difference is that in school, you are given the lesson, and then follows the test. In life, many of the different tests that we will experience, will teach us the lesson." I have never forgotten what he shared with me that day.

Thank you, take care, remain safe and healthy, and look forward to hearing from many of you in BGS. As we say in the US Air Force, "AIM HIGH!!!"
    Respectfully,
    Jose Rodriguez

    Hello Jose Rodriguez,

Thank you for sharing what one of the unit commanders shared with you. The lessons that are given to us in life makes us who we are (sometimes). We can see the negative and make it into a positive one.

Once again. thank you for sharing and I wish you well in all your classes and your future endeavors.
