The Beta Gamma Sigma Triangle Alumni Chapter is getting back in motion, and we’re starting where it counts — in a room with students. On Thursday, September 10, the BGS chapter at NC State’s Poole College of Management is hosting a Networking Crash Course, and they’ve invited us to join them. I’ll be leading the session: how to open a conversation with someone you’ve never met, what to say after “so, what do you do,” and how to turn a handshake into a relationship that still matters a year later. Then the students practice — and that’s where you come in. The most valuable part of the night isn’t the teaching. It’s the students getting to test what they just learned on real professionals who have actually built careers. You don’t need to prepare anything. Just show up and be honest about how your own network really came together.
