Thought leadership speaker series: Career Change

We are excited to be hosting Ben Irons, the Head of Direct Channels at Community First Credit Union.

Ben has over 15 years experience in the Financial Services industry. Ben established his own Financial Planning business in 2010 with a focus on online and phone based. Within the Financial Planning industry, his roles provided him the opportunity to present to global insurance directors on digital underwriting engines and was a regular contributor of financial literacy articles to websites including TelstraMoney and CreditWorld.

Ben moved into the banking industry in 2013 and has held a number of senior roles in retail and digital banking management. Ben is currently with Community First Credit Union, one of Sydney largest Community-based Credit Unions where he heads Community First's digital banking brand 'EasyStreet Financial Services' competing in the 'neo-bank' segment.

Concurrently to most of his career, Ben was a member of the Australian Army Reserves where he served for 17 years. Ben started his MBA with the University of Sydney in 2016, was admitted into BGS in 2019 and is graduating in 2020. Ben has a passion for financial empowerment and more presently, Ben has a passion for bringing together digital and physical interactions to deliver value to banking customers.
