Update Your Profile

Updating your profile is important in connecting with members based on shared expertise and experiences. To add a photo and other demographics to your profile, simply click the profile image in the main navigation bar and then select “Profile.” While updating your profile, take a moment to review your Privacy Settings (under the My Account tab on your profile) to ensure your profile visibility is set to your liking. By taking these simple steps, you’ll be able to make meaningful connections with other members and maximize the value of your ConnectBGS experience.

Update Your Preferences

Take control of your community experience by customizing your notification preferences. From your profile page, navigate to My Account > Community Notifications to choose how you receive updates (real-time, daily digest, or consolidated digests), then visit Email Preferences to decide which categories of emails you’d like to receive. While you’re there, review your Privacy Settings to manage what other members can see about you. These simple adjustments let you control your community communications, ensuring you stay connected without overwhelming your inbox.

Explore the different communities available on ConnectBGS. Simply select Communities > ConnectBGS Communities from the main navigation bar, choose the communities that interest you, and join. You can also browse existing discussions and share your thoughts by pressing the blue Reply button. Remember, your contributions can make a huge impact on the professional lives of members around the world, so don’t hesitate to join the conversation!

Introduce Yourself

Ready to make your first reply? Head over to the Welcome & Introduction community, click the Discussion tab, and find that month’s New Member Introduction thread. Each month, BGS staff post a simple template there, just copy it, reply to the thread, and fill in your own details. It’s an easy way to say hello and start connecting with members around the world.

You’ve updated your profile, joined a few communities, and introduced yourself, now it’s time for the final step: joining the conversation. Ask a question, or better yet, answer one! You can reply to an existing thread or post a new message, both are just a click away under the Discussion tab in any community.
