Bio

Primarily worked as a chemical engineering project engineer and manager with a healthy sprinkling of process engineering, plant operations, environmental and safety improvement projects to add some spice to my career.  A short stint in the ‘80s building custom furniture setup my lifelong hobby. Attracted to tech, I took on the role of IT manager for several years and maintained a small side gig repairing and upgrading PCs, assisting small operations with networking, and worked as webmaster for the local town.

A late career MBA in ‘08, landed me a temp position to investigate and develop a land-based salmon farming operation in the northeastern US working with experts to develop the process and facility and the company controller to deliver the full financial pro forma to the CEO. Next was a very unhappy period at one of BoA’s massive call centers which mercifully ended when I decided to dedicate my time to work on our 1840s house renovations. About 3/4 of the way through I ended leaving Maine to go to Oslo with my wife for a 2010-11 temp assignment at her company HQ. Upon returning I landed back at the seafood company in a consulting position at their local salmon/seafood smoking facility working on various operational improvements, eventually assisting with design of an expansion to double capacity. As the project was ending, my wife was again transferred, this time to the US HQ in Miami.

By now some life long heart related problems came to the forefront eventually putting an end to my career - I finished the expansion project working remotely and then had my second heart valve/aneurysm surgery. A year later I had a short stint as IT manager to bridge the gap at my wife’s office until they found a permanent replacement. This unfortunately coincided with my third heart valve surgery which put th exclamation point at the end of my career - now retired - permanently!
